Kiev is, in many ways, an epicenter of culture and art in Ukraine. The city is home to a number of talented young artists and graphic designers – many of whom have been established for years, while others may just be starting out. One example of an artist who may still be considered by older artists to be ‘starting out’ is Filatov Dmitry. Born into an artistic family in 1976, this talented artist has been producing impressive artwork for much of his lifetime. He studied art at school and at college and has never worked as a designer or secularly in some other fashion. Despite his long career he only started to market himself actively as an artist in the late 1990s and has since gained much deserved recognition across the country. Filatov Dmitry enjoyed one personal exhibition at the Aquarel Gallery in 2000 – an exhibition he named ‘Color Activation’. Dmitry is just one example of the many fine artists who have enjoyed exhibitions at the Aquarel Gallery in Ukraine.
