Trump signs off on $445 mln in support for Ukraine
Assistance to Ukraine under the new bill has been increased and approved in the amount of $445.7 million.
U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a package of laws approved by the Congress, which significantly increases the assistance to Ukraine for this year.
“The package includes the Department of State, foreign operations, and related programs appropriations bill, 2019. The assistance to Ukraine under this bill has been increased and approved in the amount of $445.7 million,” the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA wrote on Facebook.
Most of the additional funds will be spent on increasing costs to provide Ukraine with military technical support under the Foreign Military Financing Program.
“The total amount of funds to help Ukraine in the 2019 fiscal year, including $250 million previously allocated to the Pentagon for these purposes, is almost $695.7 million,” the embassy said.
