I'm visiting a female friend in Kharkiv and am hoping that we will become more than just friends. Can anybody recommended good places to take her which would facilitate that? I'm not really interested in loud dance clubs. It would be cool if there was a nice lounge type place with sofas.

Tell he that you're in her care and let her lead the way since you're the 'newbie' there.
She'll know where everything is and what you'll want to see and do.
This worked very well for me! I kept her too!

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I think it makes sense for her to lead since she is the local. The reason I'm trying to lead as well is because she seems to be the reserved type that likes a man to make the decisions. Also, I've heard that Slavic women like strong men who can take control. But I would be happy to let her lead if she wants to :-)

Simply tell her (like I did) that you're a stranger in a strange land and know nothing about the area or the local customs. (Use your best manners anyway) She'll show you the local sights and be a tour guide.

That's a nice way of phrasing it. I'll try it - thanks!

            There's no hidden meanings there.

I told the lady that became my wife just that. She's going to have to be my protector and teacher while I'm there because of the differences.
I'll be her protector and teacher here if things work out right between us.
