Report on Transparency International Summer School on Integrity (TISSI)2010 [04:02]
On 5-9 July Transparency International Lithuania in co-operation with Mykolas Romeris University hosted an international Transparency International Summer School on Integrity in Vilnius. This was the first such Transparency International event in the region. The School welcomed sixty-seven youth leaders from twelve countries such as Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Kosovo, USA and Poland. Now it's time to draw on the experience of this wonderful week. Transparency International Lithuania would like to thank all friends and colleagues that made this School possible. After evaluating student questionnaires, it is safe to say the event was a success. The organizers also know what can be done better and will make sure that next year TI School on Integrity 2011 will be even better!

Ten days..four countries...a trip around the edge of the former Soviet Union in Nov & Dec 09 by Andy Lottey and Rob Wilkinson.... from Kiev in Ukraine (international hostel near independence square..top notch!) through the intriguingly retro state that is Belarus and capital Minsk (staying at Hotel Belarus..a REAL experience!!), taking in a very militarised BATE Borisov v Benfica Europa League match then on to wonderful Vilnius (B&B Bernadino just yards from old town by Eurolines coach from Minsk - a very memorable experience!!) with a most enlightened attitude towards free street music concluding in Riga, capital of Latvia (staying at Funky Hostel...brilliant cheap central accomodation again by Eurolines)..a vibrant Baltic port city with a lot to offer...video wud have been a lot better if Windows Movie Maker didn't keep crashing on me (anyone know a cure??!!)...either way lots of interesting food, beer, sights and sounds and a recommended trip but possibly best in warmer months!! Did Bulgaria/Serbia/Macedonia/Kosova/Montenegro & Albania last winter.. looking at Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan etc..basically anyone related to Stan next year funds permitting!
