This picture, along with others, was taken October 15, 1941 in Lubny and was used as evidence in war crime cases. At this time most of Lubny's young men were serving in the Soviet Army. Some of the young adults who were able to flee had done so, however, that day in October 1941, close to 4500 Jews were taken to a site outside the city and murdered. This woman in the picture and her children were among the victims.
