Hi all How are things with ya?
I'm from New Zealand. I'm thinking about renting a car while I'm staying in Ukraine in Apr/May.
Can I drive a car with my New Zealand drive licence or should I take an international drive licence with me there?

Is there any one to tell me about this?

Hi,
Kenny,

Surely you will need an international driving license in Ukraine, but I am afraid you may have a trouble with renting a car here.
Perhaps in Kyiv there are some agencies that do it, but I've never heard of anything like this yet. When I drive a car here, I must have my driving license and a document confirming that I own this car or I have a notarised permit from the owner to drive it.

I was advised NOT even think about it as far as driving in Ukraine, being a foreigner to Ukrain.

It can be a nightmare... Take good care.

I agree with Ice, if you are a foreigner, you may better use a cab or something, use whatever, but not drive, let it be some crazy drivers that you will not be used to or the police that stops just because they are hungry!
