Hi Steve,

Another great question, I can't wait to see some of the replies.
I have a load of places I love in Ukraine, one of my favorites is my friends dacha in Kyiv, on the banks of the river. However, as very few people will ever visit there I'll have to say walking around the back streets of Lviv. Each and every turn brings you to a treasure, Lviv drips with history and culture.
My opinions change about my favorite place faster than the weather, Lviv is top of my list as I've just left there.

I look forward to other people favorites.
Take care...

Vlas.

My favourite place - a little house in Timiryazeva - 10 minutes' drive out of Chernivtsi.

This summer the swallows were back, the bees were buzzin' in the hot sun, there were good fish in the river - everything seems at last to be recovering from Chernobyl.

My friends have built a powered shower and they feed me wonderful local delicacies - made even more precious by the love that prepares them.

1 hour's drive takes me to the beautiful Carpathian mountains. I wish I had time to just relax and enjoy, but visits mean frantic activity. Maybe when I retire......

Thumbs up

There are so many beautiful places in Ukraine that listing them would take forever.
I would like to nominate (!) Chernihiv as a city of outstanding beauty.
Quite often over looked, it is a real treasure to visit.

You can visit Chernihiv on line at; http://www.ksaba.kcn.ru/raznoe/webgu...e/elit_che.htm

I would recommend this place to everyone.

Hi, my name is Sophie. I don't know yet what my favorite places are in Ukraine. But I hope to come to Ukraine (sebastopol)with my Russian teatcher in Januari or Februari. He has some friends over there. I hope to visit a friend I met in Turkey a few weeks ago. He is from Dnjepropetrovsk and I like to find people who can give me some info about this city! You can find me on UKRAINE.COM pen pals or e-mail: sophieryckman@hotmail.com

Nice places in Ukraine - there are plenty of them !!!
Of course, Lviv - only in this city there are so many things to mention !!!
Then of course Carpathian mountains - the only wild mountains in Europe, I think. Lakes in Volyn region, sp. Svitjaz and famous Volyn forests! Olesko castel nearby Lviv and other castels as well .... Caves in Ternopil region, though they are officilally closed for visits, but you know, is you want, you could always take a look ... Lakes in Roztocchchja national park nearby Lviv - paradise for bird watching, I am puzzled sometimes myself how we have got these birds there !!! Nice place to swim, to relax etc. Sofijivskij park in Uman´. Kyiv, Odesa, Chernigiv (mention already) .... thre are plenty of things, hard to find my favorite - I like all of them. But for sure Lviv is the best one, - eventually I am from Lviv ...
Best wishes, Volodja

hi

I would definately say Odessa is my favourite place to visit in Ukraine during the month of May.
The whole city is blooming, the air smells like Acacia and chestnut trees!
