Re the Visa. It used to be that you needed an invitation from a friend or business to get a visa for the Ukraine. However, this has changed and you should be able to get a visitor/tourist visa for one or two visits from the Ukrainian Consulate in your country. What is important is that you have an address in the Ukraine... where you intend to stay etc. This can be found by searching for hotels and Hhotel services, which is deceiving as this is a company that supplies apartments. The apartment optionis probably the best one, it gives you freedom and you are less likely to get the midnight phone calls, if you get my drift. The other important aspect is that yu can support yourself in the Ukraine or if you have a problem you have a contact who can bail you out. Final important aspect, tell the truth on the application form, intention of the visit... tourism or whatever, length of stay etc. Hope this help, but if you contact the consulate they should be able to give you more info. Steve.
