Question

Hello All,

I am going to be in Kiev and I would like to visit Odessa and Western Ukrain (Ternopil' and Chernovtsi). I was going to take train but I can't figure out the following:

1) how can I buy train tickets? (It seems that they are often sold out, and you can't buy them without presenting a document)

2) if the train goes throug Moldova, will I be hassled by the border control if I have a single entry visa to Ukrain?

Thanks for you help

If you go in the summer it is very difficult to get train tickets. The best way for you would be if somebody there can buy them. They actually have to order them. I was down there in the summer and i had somebody buying them for me. If i wanted to buy them when i was down there i would had no change of getting them. You have to show your pasport for tickets.
