Hi everyone! I hoped there might be someone here with some insight into my problem. I applied for a visa to Ukraine. I'm in the USA, and applied to the Embassy of Ukraine in Washington, D.C. The FedEx I sent to them reached them in the first part of this month, around 26 days ago. However, I have not received my visa or any word from the Embassy. This normally wouldn't be that much of a bother, except my airplane for Kiev is set to fly on June 11th! The Embassy of Ukraine website said a 6-9 business day turnaround for processing. Of course, it's also the busy season and I understand there may be delays, but I am admittedly growing nervous. So what's the catch-22? The embassy website says, 'Don't call us regarding your Visa processing, or you may experience delays.' So if I don't call, I may get it too late, and if I do call, it may be delayed to the point of being too late because I called.

Oh boy...so...has anyone been in a similar situation? Is there ANYTHING I can do other than pray and hope my travel insurance covers this type of thing?

Thanks so much, to whoever may be able to help.

Also...

I've never been denied a visa to anywhere in the world for any reason and I highly doubt that denial is the reason for the delay. Then again, nothing's impossible!

you could fax a personable letter outlining your particular problems to the ambassador, and marked personal for the ambassador, addressed 'Your excellency' and asking for his help on this occasion, as you inadvertantly booked passage before you had received your documents, but presuming that you had plenty of time for your documents to come through, which was a mistake on your part. ensure that you say that you are asking for his help..a fax message is the best thing under the cirumstances... good luck
