Hello! I am moving to Southern France this winter for two months to hopefully find work, and to gain some cultural experience. If anyone here has been there, would they mind relating some experiences they have had there to me? I am very excited to go.

Love Dana

Sweet! I might be moving to Nice for the winter to train for cycling. Where abouts are you planning on moving to?

working in france

good evening dana the south of france in wintertime will most probably be somewhat wet, and less likely to gain work there rather than summer time. perpignan, narbonne are nice towns and argeles sur mer is excellent but is a summer resort only. work in france generally is rather difficult to find try and obtain a promise of work before you leave home
good luck johncullen

one further point dana. do try and get to the area near perpignan as this city is the gateway to the pyrennes mountains which divides france and spain. there in the foothills you will find evidence of the cathars. a town called monthallou, and a fort named monsegur are both worthwile visiting or at least reading about the cathars were persecuted by the catholic church in the 13th century
as heretics. a book by ladourie called cathars and catholics in a french village was a bestseller in france

Hi,

Training for what?? lol...Your way too short and bulky to be for real my man. I am older than you and would tear you to bits in a road race. You need to wake up and stop dreaming my man...lol

Hello everyone

Thanks for all your replies! I am moving to Nice, so perhaps you and I will cross paths Jetset. I have heard that the rain in Southern France is fairly heavy, but that is fine by me! I plan on working only small jobs, such as something at a local coffeeshop. I actually have the money saved up to cover my expenses for about two months. And hopefully I will be able to travel to some of those towns you mentioned, John. I am very excited. You must have been to France before?

Love Dana!

PS: Josey, why did you post on every thread in the forum? Have you ever heard of something called verbal diarrhea?

south of france

good evening dana
a couple of more points...auchon a large hypermarket chain operates and has one outlet in perpignan. you could find work there
lidl a german chain also operates along the coast
sncf (french railways) are on the net under that title sncf, you could try them for jobs
if you get to argeles sur mer you won't ever go home
good luck now...johncullen
