keen to rent a house in the Carpathian mountains

Greetings from the Himalayas,

I am wishing to travel to Ukraine this summer by sailing to Istambul, then sailing to Odessa, travelling maybe by train to Lviv, and finally renting a home for 4-8 weeks in the Carpathian mountains. I speak some Ukrainian as it is my mother tongue, although I was born in Canada.
Can anyone help me with the following;
1) is it possible to rent a small home in the mountains, with a view and garden, surrounded by forests and some streams, etc, at a location that has some educated tourists? How much?

2) I heard that cash is king. Are there any ATM (automated teller machines) that can forward USD (or local currency)from my bank?

3) I am a student of Adwait Vedant and meditation. Are Carpathians mountains good for inner peace and are the people friendly and curious about such topics?

I would appreciate any ideas. Thank you very much.
