The minimal cost to make an international passport for a Ukrainian citizen costs about 350-400 hrivnas (about $50) and it will be ready within 6 weeks. If one needs it to be ready quicker in 1 week, it will cost twice more (about 700-800 hrivnas). These are official prices. But one can use services of some companies which can help to make an international passport in 3-4 days, it may cost about 1000 hrivnas.

Just an update. We sent my wife's sister $250 (USD) for passports for her and her 5 year old son. She said this would cover the cost of the passports, photographs, notorizing and transportation to and from the application place for the two of them. Not sure if this was an "expedited" service or not, but she said she would have it in one month.

Why so negative and quick to assume a family member is scamming me? Seems resonable based on the prices everyone else has listed. She lives in a small Village in the middle of nowhere (which I am sure is common!). We are sending her 4 hours away to meet up with her family who has experience applying for passports, lives in an area where notorizing and photographs can readily be obtained and where all their important documents are.

She estimated about 60 each for the passports, notorizing and photos totaling 120 for the two passports. We added another 100 to cover travel for her and son from their village to the family, 15 for the transfer fee and another 15 as a buffer.

Please tell me where she is pocketing so much.
