Changes to Visa Requirements

Hi Everybody!

Has anyone checked out their local Ukrainian Embassy website lately?

The London Ukrainian Embassy now has new requirements listed up (since 10 Sept apparently) and it appears that EU citizens now need visas to travel to Ukraine.

Unless I misunderstand I see this as a very bad move for business and tourism by Ukraine will really annoy thousands of Europeans who were planning a trip for next year's "event".

Any sensible assessments by others greatly appreciated.

I will be phoning the embassy shortly for clarification. As usual I would rate my chances of getting through as slightly less likely that winning the lottery.

We have just spoken with the Ukrainian Embassy (visa section) in London and they say nothing has changed (and interestingly they spoke to us in Russian not Ukrainian) i.e. no visa required for UK passport holders, our Pastor visited Donetsk about 2 weeks ago with no visa...

I can confirm nicksadler's finding.

My wife just phoned them also and got the same from them - no change for UK folks - no visa needed.

You have to wonder what the hell they are playing at, at the embassy - the above link is still there (as of 16:00 27 October 2011).

I am trying to find information about a long business visa for more than 90 days. This is so I can get one, go over there a set up a business in Ukraine that will provided income for Ukrainian citizens, and this is the crap I have to put up with!
