Question Help to choose cities in the West Ukraina

Hello... my name is Mike and in 2 weeks I'm going to Odessa to go to visit the West part of Ukraine. Now I don't know exactly in which city to go.. is there someone who can suggest me a good city where to go. I'll stay for 1 week. I don't know if to go to Kharkov, Dnepropetrov, Zaporozje, Doneck, Prymorsk, Nikolayev. And I prefer to go in a seaside place. I premise that I'm 28 years old, I'm going with other friend and we like the night life...
Please help us.. everything depends from your answer.
Thanks in advanced...
Mike

Hello Mike,
If you would really like to visit WEST part of Ukraine, you need to go to Lviv, Ternopil, Uzhgorod, Ivano-Frankivsk. Lviv and Uzhgorod have beautiful architecture, but there are no sea there...
Odessa (it is in the SOUTH of Ukraine) is a really good choice, because it is big, beautiful, multicultured city, located at the Black sea and you can have good holidays there! You can also visit Crimea, there are a lot of sights and every small town is ineteresting there and of course - the Black sea. If you want inexpensive seaside rest, I would suggest you Mariupol, Berdyansk or Kherson. I live in Kherson (it is in 3,5 hours drive from Odessa). There are no sea at the city itself, but there are both the Black sea and the sea of Azov (warm and shallow) in Kherson region, and you can have rest there for only about $10-20/day. If you need more info about it, you are welcome to get in touch with me!

People say Odessa is Ukrainian LA, it is a city of night life. I have never gone in clubs there because I do not like it much so I can neither confirm nor deny this saying. Though the down town is nice for an evening walk. But you should know that a week ago all Odessa beatchs were closed due to sanitary inspection decision - the water was very poluted. I assume the situation has not changed and even though it changed I personaly would not swim there.

Lviv, Ternopil, Uzhgorod, Ivano-Frankivsk I confirm. May also add Kamyanetz-Podilskiy.

If you want a sea then go to Yalta (is a must), Sudak and Sevastopol. All these are in Crimea. The Crimea is relativly small so you can visit several places in one day.

Regardless western or southern part I would advise you to spend your vocation for sightseeing. Clubs are the same but the nature and history are unique. In any case have a nice trip.
