Hello,
Yes you can definitely get turkey in Lugansk. A couple of year back the in-laws had obviously been reading up on British Christmas traditions and bought one for us when we went over. I really hate turkey but had to put on a brave face. To make matters more comical yet, since they had never had one before, I had to cook it! On the plus side it tasted much better than the UK ones. In other words it had a taste. Quite expensive, more than UK I think but not 100 bucks. Unless you were going to buy one the size of a small car. Actually, since these are real turkeys, not some product of factory farming, you probably won't be able to get a really huge one. Have fun shopping. Best place is a reputable market stall I would have thought unless you can buy one from the person who raised it. That would be best. |

You don't like turkey, and you had to cook it, too..
how did it happen you don't like Indiaka?I bought the turkey, here in Kansas, $.66 a pound, 8 kilos for about 10$. Turkey sandwiches, re-heated, microwaved, breakfast, dinner and supper now with gravy, gave some to the 3-4 cats who are always sniffing around the front door... Still can't get my mind around how to get to Lugansk - 3 different airlines, scheduling. How to get to the airport in Kansas City (130 miles away) is my biggest problem... $200 for the taxi or $150 to park the car for 30 days (if I had a car that was working) or take the once-a-day bus to downtown KC, + taxi to the airport, too late for that day's flight, have to stay in expensive motel...Yeah, I know, just "git-er-done" as they say in Kansas. |
