Dear Bertvalkeman
I've found just one english www. for You>>> other in Ukr\rus>>>pls check>>> FM-taxi i think You can send them an order /pls try. I think it takes not more then 1 hour from KBP terminal in central part of KIev, and time will depend from final point of destination, and traffic jams. In evening time will faster, any questions pls ask. Good luck |

There is a coach/bus/minibus from the airport to the centre and main station at a fraction of the cost of a taxi... you will be bombarded by offers of a taxi at "the best" price.. bus is cheaper and almost as fast...

You will be "bombarded" at the airport with taxi drivers. Negociate the price before you accept the ride. Should no be more than 100 UAH, $12. Expensive is relative to what you are used to paying. Mini bus is OK, and cheaper, but I prefered the taxi. Taxi will be warmer as well since you are going in December. Taxi will take you right to the door of where you are going.
My 2 cents bro. Have a good trip!

Hi Everybody,
As already stated many men will offer you a "taxi" from the moment you exit the door into arrivals. Most of them do not drive a taxi but some old banger instead, with no working seat belts. If you want an official taxi, there is a taxi office outside on your right. It will cost you about 150H or more (petrol prices have gone up since I was last there by plane). The bus was 22H the last time I used it - may be more like 30H now. If you are on your own its a no brainer if you want to save some money. The bus has a picture of an aeroplane on the little white sign in the front that tells you where it is going (if you can't read the language). The bus goes to the railway station. If you want to check and can say "vagzal" in a questioning way, you may get confirmaiton. The bus also usually stops at a big bus stop on the way into Kiev where there is also the first (unless the line extension is finished) metro station into town. If you know where you are going, getting off here may save you a few minutes. There is also a metro stop at the railway station of course but I think you have to walk all the way through the station and out the other side to reach it (whereupon, it is on your left). The bus may also be safer if its snowing. Ukrainian car/taxi drivers offer quite an exciting ride for the money!! ;-) ... better to be in a bigger vehicle IMO when its snowing. There is usually at least one bus fheading for Kiev central station outside the airport, pretty much dead ahead of you, busses leave when they are fullish. If its cold, don't pick a seat near the door. One last tip, if you don't have any local currency when you arrive, there is an official money exchange turning back on yourself to your right, as you enter arrivals from customs control. The exchange rate is fair. Have a good trip! |
