There is a reason why cycling is known as "the beautiful sport" which originated around the same time the tour de france originated. Frustratingly, soccerfans have been recently taken to calling soccer the beautiful sport- which is a theft of some sort. Nothing can be more beautiful than the peloton, a moving machine composed of raw human potential on a beatiful backdrop of the world we live in (as opposed to a stadium).

This upcoming month you can have the chance to see why cycling is "the beautiful sport" when the 2001 Tour de France takes motion on July 6.
