Thumbs up

love playing and watching hochkey.
of course i watch every x-soviet player in NHL, but my favorite team is detroit red wings. fedorov will have a good season it seems.
it's terrible what happened to Konstantinov "the gladiator", he was my favorite...

i watched Blue Jackets (new expansion team from columbus, ohio) play (i'm from columbus), they look horrable, it will take some time and trades for them to become decent.

So if anyone has comments, wants to share something about their team, please do so.

do any of you PLAY hockey?
i play league inline hockey (defense).
i'm considering joining the OSU club team.
i also play intramural ice-hockey.

What are your predictions for this NHL season???????

P.S. does anyone know anything about SOKOL KIEV?

Hi Max,

I love and play hockey. I think you call it field hockey, but for people in the UK it's just hockey. I've played it all my life and would go so far as to say there is no better sport to participate in.

Me like hockey

Hey there Max... I dunno if you still check out these boards, but I'll reply to the thread.

Being Canadian, of course I play hockey. Like every child born in this nation, I had a small amount of hockey injected into my blood a few minutes after being brought into this world.

I played the sport since kindgarten until grade eleven (twelve years). I still play the occasional rec game, and my position is right defence. I wasn't a big time goal scorer or an "enforcer", but when I got the puck and some room to skate I could work the occasional magic. Most goal scorers on defence do so with a hard shot, so I was different than most d-men. But my best asset was keeping the opposition from scoring. My plus-minus from my last season was approx plus 60 (also thanks to my linemate - you know who you are hendawg!!).

Right now I have switched to cycling (mountain and road), as well as running. Sometimes I miss hockey, but really there are too many problems with the game. Too many goons, too many concussions, too many fights. A lot of the people I played with and against only played into their late teens because they could fight, and get away with only a game misconduct (rather than being taken away by police).

Anyway, I love the skill based european game, and watching a lot of the Czech and Swedish players... Jagr, Palffy and Sundin. There also is Darius Kasparitis, who is from Ukraine, and is tough as nails.

Anyway, anyone else out there into hockey (or cycling/running?).

Oh yeah, I am cheering for the Avalanche in the Cup finals (as opposed to the hated New Jersey goons)

ttyl
