Superb double for Ukrainian football last week, with the now-legendary Shevchenko humiliating Inter's Cordoba and Toldo in the Derby-to-end-all-Derbies to seal Milan's place in the European Champions League Final
I was lucky enough to be at the San Siro, it was great to see all the Ukrainian flags being waved in the Curva Sud when Sheva scored.
Anyone want to relive the moment it's here:

and the replay:

AND...Oleg Luzhny was the main reason Arsenal's notoriously leaky defence kept a clean sheet in the FA Cup Final against Southampton, despite being a right-back he had a blinder in central defence. He deserved the praise from Arsene Wenger...

Arsenal manager in an interview to the club's official site following the FA Cup Final:
"...I think [Oleg Luzhny] had a remarkable performance in the centre alongside Martin Keown, who also had a great match. Oleg was outstanding for 90 minutes and didn't make one mistake. He was surprisingly good in the air. Martin was not 100 percent today but I had no choice, so I told him to go at the back and deal with the long balls. He was not really at the top of his game."

AND...Chornomorets fought back from 2-1 down to win 3-2 against Illichivets to move up to seven places of the bottom, the rise from the mid-season grave is still on! Here's hat-trick hero Kosyrin's 73rd minute winner.

The wonders of the Internet

Hey Gunner,

I see you are following Chornomorets. Are you going to see a match when you get to Odessa?

Ten years ago it would not have been possible to get information this easily. Out here in California we watch matches from England, Italy, Spain, and Argentina...Broadcast in Spanish. ...

Club level football in the US is in a sorry state with the exception of a few younger players. We do get to watch a few good exhibition matches. A few years ago we had CF America from Mexico City playing Boca Juniors.

Reminds me of my first visit to the US ten years ago, i put on the TV and it showed Inter of Milan beating Norwich I was shocked to see football on the TV.
The cheap air travel revolution in Europe now means it is easier for me to see Milan play at home than Arsenal.

Shevchenko

I remember last year the big rumor was that Real was trying to get Shevchenko, this year Real is "trying" to get Beckham.

Did you hear about the million dollar endorsement contract that 13 year old in Florida signed with Nike?

I saw some of the fares Easyjet and Ryanair offer. They're amazing...Hey Gunner, how much do you think the EU officials in Brussels paid for the design of the EU flag?

BLATANT rip off, wonder if the founding fathers are whirling like dervishes in their graves.
Ulysses which sport are the Americans most passionate about? If San Francisco, say, wanted to make New York or Chicago really miserable would the hope to beat them at Gridiron, baseball, basketball or hockey?
When Holland defeated Germany, in Germany, in 1988 old grannies who don't even like football were out dancing in the street and waving bicycles (banned during Nazi occupation) in the air, is there an equivalent in N America?

Regarding Ryan Air, from Luton (where I live) to Milan cost ё0.02 (return).
