Zhanna Pintusevich-Block rocked the athletics world on Monday when she handed Marion Jones her first defeat since 1997. The win for Zhanna spells that the Ukrainian is the current women's 100m World Champion. Not only that, Edmonton is a Canadian city with a relatively large ethnic Ukrainian population; needless to say, there were more than a few happy Ukrainians in Edmonton.

Cool

YES. I couldn't believe it. If 15 more meters, Marion Jones would catch up, but OUR UKRAINIAN WON.

What also suprised me is we have 2 medals now and my country (where I live) Canada has 0.

- Way 2 GO. Also, GOOD LUCK In WINTER GAMES 2002.

Smile hi PinkFloyd

I live in Canada now as well, Canadian athletes are whining and complaining that they do not get enough money from the government, that's why they do not perform so well...
Look at Ukraine, they have even less money, but they have spirit and determination.
