Ukrainian girl won Warsaw Marathon!
I am pleased to let you know that Tatyana Holovchenko was a proud winner of the 32nd Warsaw Marathon among women on September 26, 2010. She completed the dreadful distance of over 42 km in wonderful time of 2 hours 31 minutes and 37 seconds. Tatyana comes from Kyiv and she was born in 1980. Polish media add that she was somehow ...late for a start but in spite of it she finally arrived as a first girl.
Marathon running quickly becomes popular in Poland. My much younger university colleague Ania showed enough courage to participate together with over 4000 runners. She made it!
I have never done it with my life but I mangaed to run 10500 meters in rather poor time of one hour this year. I have to say, I was very glad not so much with my time but because it turned out possible for me.
The male winner of the marathon, Tola Bane from Kenya had a hardly imaginable time of 2 hrs 13 minutes and 10 sec.
