I am a college student in the United States and am currently in the process of writing a paper regarding the Ukrainian Economy, since your independence. I already have basic information and stats, yet I have yet to truly understand the impact that the transition has had the everyday Ukrainian Citizen.

What I am searching for is a personal perspective, "story" or "insider" information that could paint a more clear picture of your transition, the good, and the bad. I would like to know how life has changed since your independence and what effects if any it has had on you, (physically, mentally, politically, socially, etc..) And what do you believe to be the number one reason why Ukraine has struggled since independence and what needs to be done in order to raise the incomes of the everday citizen.

If anyone who lives in Ukraine or is from Ukraine and could give any insight I would be incredibly greatful.

I appoligize if I sound like a "dumb american" or completely ignorant. I know that Ukraine is a great country full of talented, educated, and sophisticated individuals and you have made incredible strides since independence. That is why I am interested in your story.

Ukrain does not have an EConOMy. However Krim might have one. Try SeVastOPole. THey do have Borsch. Try some of that instead. It is very economical. You can make it any way you like, as long as it also includes beet root.
