We already know that God claims all religion, so let's not go there.

Once you strip away the cultural fabric of religion, what do all religions actually have in common?

Culture can be different from people to people, from place to place. Culture can be neutral, meaning not offensive to accepted laws or morals.

By religion people seek God. If there is God, then only one way is right. God's way. According to the Bible, there is only one way to salvation on this planet. Acts 4:12. http://www.greatcom.org/laws

well
every religion is a loop in the process of living. because we dont know (yet) where we have come from, and do not want to think, there is a cheap explanation about god. if instead of loosing our energy on things without a result, we would spend energy on this point, we could be aprouching the point of finding out about our past. this would mean flying to planets etc(living for a longer period of time etc) only non humans-biorobots, do not use the brain and follow the religions-viruses.

RE: What do all religions have in common?

People in each religion claim that their and only their beliefs are holy and true, and all other beliefs are either human fantasies or satanic deceptions.

Each religion promises huge rewards for those who will believe and a very sad fate for those who refuse to believe.

In each religion, there are people who claim to be zealous servants of God. And by claiming that they act on behalf of God, these people achieve personal power and authority among lesser believers.

In each religion there is some kind of personal restriction or denial through which devout believers show their acceptance of God's authority. Some examples are: fasting, austere lifestyle, austere dress, abstinence from alcohol, abstinence from sex, abstinence from dancing, abstinence from social relationships.

Greetings,

I have just arrived home from my RV Trip and getting ready to go to Europe. However, this question requires my expert
contribution. I have studied and researched all religions.
While my work is not yet complete, I have some observations about religions:

1. All religions lead people away from reality. People substitute faith for knowledge. There is a great Hungarian Proverb that is very applicable here: "The more you know, the less you believe."

2. All religions have a "Dumbing Down" effect on people. Intelligent, highly educated people can fall under the SPELL of religion. They find religion comforting because they can not deal with their own mortality.

3. All religions are a danger to world peace. People try to elevate their own god above other gods. This has been the cause of all evil and it goes on even today.

Now you know.

Bill
