Ungaro, I noticed stubborn blindness in you. I explained long ago the fallacy of Immaculate conception, and you still don't get it. It also invalidates all your other statements, because you're making statements without understanding them. So much for your science.

So Lubov is a follower of the mystical religion called evolution. Please ask Ungaro to help you on this with 'his' science.

Theja,

You are avoiding some answers:

1. Do you believe in CREATION or in the BIG BANG? (The Big Bang I am referring to is not a SEX ACT.)

2. Who wrote the Bible?

Yours truly,

Bill

It's not that some people can't stand religion, it's that they refuse to believe in something/someone that is not.

****If the only thing you know about it is that some priest goes around acting holy, and a bunch of people sing songs mindlessly, and they mention funny names like obadiah, and the people seem to go into a trance when they all pray at once, then I agree with you - religion is no good. If it's churches that build enormous new buildings while continually asking for more money, I agree, religion is no good. If it's televangelists that pretend to be on God's side, while raking in a fortune, and pushing their own political views, then I agree, religion is no good. If it's big business religion that you don't like - fine. If it's the hundreds of years of total insanity caused by the Catholic and similar churches, then I agree. Religion is no good.****

The point of contest here is not the actions of Christians and the enormous riches the Christian church possesses. It's tho notion of religion itself and the need for it regardless of the type of faith - Christian, Muslim, Zoroastrian - you name it.

****But the fact is that our ancestors are not monkeys. The fact is there is a God. Why should people do the right thing because it's the right thing when it's virtually impossible for them to do the right thing even when they're scared they will be punished by God. And why blame Christianity for all the problems in the world when there are virtually no Christians around now - just a bunch of phony religious people. ****

Could you please clarify what exactly prevents you from doing the right thing?

*****What you people are doing is criticizing the phony Christian. That's fine. But if you want me to prove, one step at a time, why it's a hell of a lot better to follow the bible than to follow the 'anything goes religion of atheism' I'll do it.*****

Now that you've made the claim of god's existence the burden of proof is upon you. I'd be very entertained to read your arguments.

Thanks!

Luba

First of all, do not ascribe to me something I have never said or claimed - not nice of you.

Second of all, if atheism or evolution are religions than I am the President of The US and the Sultan of Bahrein combined. If you are a Christian than you probably do not believe that a Persian god Zaratushtra exists. Then i can safely assume that you are a follower of a "no-Zaratushtra" religion. If my atheism with respect to your god is a religion, than your atheism with respect to other god's is a religion as well. Try telling your fellow Christians that you have another religion, see what happens.

Something that religions have in common ( and where this discussion started) is, first amd foremost, belief in god/gods or any kind of deities, then prayers, houses of worship, holy books, religious leaders, beliefs in supernatural and miracles, plus afterlife, holy wars, notions of heaven and hell, restrictions on dress, diet, marriage, blind faith without evidence (based on a claim that it is a virtue) as well as belief despite conflicting evidence in supernatural origins of universe and/or humans, murderous fundamentalist extremists, worship ceremonies, the notion and fear of sin or blasphemy. If you can point at anything on this list that is attributable to atheism or evolutionism, I'll give up and have to eat crow feathers in shame. But not until then!

Validity of Faith

Who wrote the bible??

When I was five years old I remember a lot of people asking that question - who wrote the bible - parents, uncles, aunts. The people who were aganst the bible the most had everything good going for them in life. Unfortunately, it takes suffering and hardships before people seek God. When an airplane is about to crash, before any of the people have time to think they instinctively cry out to God, even the atheists. I don't know who wrote the bible, but there's a thousand times more wisdom in just the one sentence - Love Your Neighbour as Yourself - than in all of the tv shows written in the last forty years combined.

Want to make the world a worse place to live? Do exactly what we're doing right now. God and the bible are not allowed in schools. The ages 14 to 21 are very important in a persons life, and you'll find all kinds of ugly influences specifically aimed at kids from 14 to 21. No one complains about the retards that write for Hollywood and television, but everyone, it seems, is terrified of the bible.

There was a study done, that proved people who are sick, and have many family members and friends pray for them, recover more often than people that have no one pray for them. Christians believe in something called God's spirit. How can I explain something like that logically. You know what happens when you completely disregard God's spirit and treat sickness with pharmaceutical drugs? You get one hell of a large industry. In fact, sickness and disease is the nation's single largest industry. We've thrown God out of our lives everywhere, so how come people are so sick? Why can't scientists find a cure for something as simple as the common cold?

Next time I'll write about one idea that could change the whole world if people could only understand it. It's an idea that Jesus came up with. He said it's impossible to worship both God and money.
