Question

Always find it hard to follow up Ukranian Orthodox festivities unless I often go to church or unless one lives in Ukraine but I'm not nor ever been there
So my question is if there is a website or some useful dates to remember? thanks

Hi Ricardo..

For a list of Eastern Orthodox activities and calendar in America, you can go to this link:
http://www.oca.org

This is the link to the Orthodox Church in America. We celebrate many feasts using the new calendar but we celebrate Pascha and many other feasts with the rest of the world. The Q&A section is very good and answers a lot of questions as well.

PLEASE.......

Would someone clarify the Ukrainian Easter days (holidays)in England for me this year. I don't want to go to the Embassy and find them closed !! - like I did last year.

I really enjoyed the site, especially the directory of all the churches, but when I found a church close to me and looked up when the service will be next sunday (I thought Easter is on Sunday for Orthodox also this year), I found the following announcement:

Sunday, March 31
10:00 AM
Second Sunday of Great Lent.

St. Gregory Palamas
Divine Liturgy of St. Basil
Heb. 1:10-2:3 Mark 2:1-12
Heb. 7:26-8:2 John 10:9-16
/St. Gregory Palamas – 14 Century teacher of transfiguration of man through spiritual awareness, asceticism, the knowledge of God full participation and presence in man’s life and man’s growth into divine and eternal life./

I am wondering what is the church's teachings? How can a man grow into a eternal life and they are still teaching St. Palamas' theories? I am now questionoing if I should go to the Orthodox church at all.
