Love the sinner and hate the sin
I am against some cultural and religious practices of muslims that violate human rights.
One example is the recent arrest of aid workers in Afghanistan for allegedly preaching christianity. Another example is the honor killing of women in many muslim societies. No religious faith can justify such abuse of human rights. But let's not forget a saying from the Bible, "Judge not that ye be not judged". I am sure muslims can also find many examples of present and past misdeeds by christians. Neither muslims nor christians are perfect human beings. But animosity between the two will not make either of them any better. Love is the way. Love the sinner and hate the sin. Do what you can to stop the human rights abuse because this is love for the victims. But don't let your indignation turn into hate for those who abuse others. There is hope for everyone. And even the abusers have the potential to learn kindness and love. |

Mimi,
I hope you don't think I am dumb to talk to. Do you? Do you think I might be a victim of the media? Maybe someday you will find forgiveness in your heart for me. Can you today? Very sorry, rick [Edited by ricknorth on 26th August 2001 at 00:31]
