The Chains of Islam

We have mentioned in the past about Islamic crimes against Christians and Jews. However, there are others who are tragically oppressed by the Islamic religion: The Moslems.

The April 1997 issue of The Voice of the Martyrs (POB 443, Bartlesville OK 74001) tells about the tragic situation in Bangladesh. Children who do not memorize the Koran well enough or quickly enough to please their instructors are chained to each orther or to old, heavy railroad ties, which they must cart around with them. The punishment lasts about one month at a time.

At many such schools, the only subject taught to young students is the Koran, and it is taught only in Arabic, a foreign language to most people in Bangladesh. Similar horror stories are now coming out of places such as Pakistan and Sudan. Children in Sudanese Islamic schools are forced to drink water left from washing the chalk off dirty blackboards. They are told that this will "help them to memorize the Koran."

Recently, Voice of Martyrs workers were smuggling LifePaks into Sudan. 2,000,000 black Christians in southern Sudan have been murdered by Arab Moslems from northern Sudan. Each Lifepak contains supplies to help persecuted Christians to survive in incredibly difficult circumstances, as well as a Bible in the language of Sudanese Christians.

The Voice of Martyrs workers were at-tacked by Sudanese gunships (helicopters), which attacked them, just as they attack the black Christians. Nevertheless, they are not discouraged. In a single month, they provided 10,000 LifePaks to Sudanese families in need
