In Algeria this weekend eleven people were killed, including five children, the local newspapers reported Monday. In Hai El Ketab, in the Medea region, 70 kilometers (43 miles) south of the capital Algiers seven members of one family were knifed and shot, four of them being children. In a second massacre four family members, including a 14-month-old baby, were killed Saturday by an armed group in the Laghouat region, some 400 kilometers (248 miles) south of Algiers. Three others were injured in the attack. The murders are believed to have been the acts of Muslim Fundamentalists operating in those areas for years. No reason has been given for these horrendous acts by, alledgedly, by followers of Islam. In less than a decade there is reportedly more than 100,000 murders by Fundamentalists in Algeria, and the world watches with no apparent concern for the human tragedy being played out there.
