In Christianity there are three Holy Cities. Bethlehem. Nazareth. Jerusalem. Each has a crucial spiritual meaning in scripture and allegory. What are they?

Jacob

Jacob is the father of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Why?

What role does each of his wives play in the formation of the Twelve Tribes?

Lost Sheep

Who are the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel?

Why did Jesus come only unto them?

CITIES: I don't believe much in 'holy places'. In this Christic age, I think it is PEOPLE who are made 'holy' through the blood of Jesus Christ, not places.

Jacob and the twelve tribes? Don't know, but that's how God planned it. I'll find out why when I meet Him.
If I can remember to ask.

Who are the lost sheep > ALL OF THEM - until they recognise their Messiah, repent and call him LORD.
But that's the same for all of us, so Nonson - don't take this one statement from Jesus out of context with the remainder of Scripture. It's an interesting question, but it has a different answer to what you are pointing at!

Holy Places

Andrew,

If one believes, as do I, in the inerrancy of Holy Scripture then a belief in the spiritual significance of Holy Places like Bethlehem, Nazareth, and Jerusalem is a near doctrinal requirement. Each location has a specific meaning relating to the spiritual development of mankind. The birthplace, the home, and the place of death of the Christ must be viewed as being pregnant with hidden meaning which might be used to further the progress of man in his struggle for a rebirth in the spirit.

Andrew,

In your post you made the following statement:

But that's the same for all of us, so Nonson - don't take this one statement from Jesus out of context with the remainder of Scripture. It's an interesting question, but it has a different answer to what you are pointing at!
ANDREW

The verse read: "I come but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

What do you mean by "..it has a different answer to what you are pointing at."?
