What do you think about Atheism?
I do not believe in the existence of a God, and I have very strong views against any form of religions. Usually people with low IQ are generally more easily manipulated without giving it much question.
The religions are designed to control and manipulate people. Religion is the opiate of the masses. – Karl Marx |

good morning to all,
The Atheist position is indeed hopeless. The believer has hope. If there is a God and there is life after death then the believer wins. If there is no God or no life after death the believer loses nothing. On the other hand, the Atheist loses badly if he wakes up to discover himself in the afterlife. In sum, if there is no afterlife both the believer and the Atheist are safe. But if there is an afterlife then the Atheist loses. The only one who can possibly lose is the Atheist..

Sweetgirl,
If there is no God, then all that exists is time and chance acting on matter. If this is true then the difference between your thoughts and mine correspond to the difference between shaking up a bottle of Mountain Dew and a bottle of Dr. Pepper. You simply fizz atheistically and I fizz theistically. This means that you do not hold to atheism because it is true , but rather because of a series of chemical reactions… … Morality, tragedy, and sorrow are equally evanescent. They are all empty sensations created by the chemical reactions of the brain, in turn created by too much pizza the night before. If there is no God, then all abstractions are chemical epiphenomena, like swamp gas over fetid water. This means that we have no reason for assigning truth and falsity to the chemical fizz we call reasoning or right and wrong to the irrational reaction we call morality. If no God, mankind is a set of bi-pedal carbon units of mostly water. And nothing else. (Douglas Wilson) I believe in Christianity as I believe that the Son has risen, not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.

Only when it practices intolerance and disrespect for an independent opinion of others. No matter what you believe in, you always believe in someone or something. This is the way we are. Religion is not limited to an institution and putting a cross, a crescent, an orange monk coat or a Solomon's star on your forehead, it is the way you go through your everyday life and believe in what you do is appropriate and fair to you, to others or even better: both. You don't add opium to you morning coffee, do you? |
