I have a major problem with the term "God fearing Christians".
First of all, what does fear have to do with love. Christianity professes love above all else and yet they are all AFRAID of their God. And with good reason I might add. Here's my take, God gives us the freedom of choice be it for good or bad, but then He says that if you don't worship Me I'll kill you. Before I start taking flack I want to say this, look at Sodom and Gomorrah. They had a choice and their choice led them to Death at the hands of the Ever-Loving God. Let's be real. God is jealous. God is a bully. God instills fear as a means of obedience. "Freedom of choice", HA!!! Christians HAVE NO CHOICE!!! God says, "Believe in me or suffer eternal pain and damnation". Does that sound like love? ------------------ "Free your mind and the rest will follow..." -En Vogue |

Garthnader, you must keep it in context. You are speaking of the g-d of Christianity and Judaism, not of the true Christian G-d which I worship. The one you speak of is bestial and without love. The one I pay homage to is Love. _____________________________________________ The ruckus between me and the Paulinists is actually about this very point of view. They follow the g-d of which you speak.I refuse to acknowledge such a monster in my religious beliefs. They think me a devil. I think that they are utterly ignorant. _____________________________________________ So the argument falls to an interpreting of Scripture. They try desperately to justify their madness, but are not able to do so. And with the Bible I destroy them because they know not of what they speak. _____________________________________________ Garthnader, I believe in God and in the Bible. What I don't believe in is the foolishness introduced into it by greedy priests. Their errors are so easy to see and also easy to avoid. There is a true gospel in the Bible, and I believe it to have been inspired of G-d. It is not the gospel one hears from modern Christianity. They are all liars. _____________________________________________ As a parting thought. Jesus did away with the priesthood. His advent made it null and void. The practices of the priests was ended because of their unending web of lies. Christ abolished the Temple (church) because of the evil born in it, and in its place He instituted the Temple of the Body. Christ did away with the State, and those paying homage to such creations are heretics. Christ condemned politics, and those who practice such are blasphemers of the Gospel. This goes on and on.I can write tomes on the it, but followers of Christianity prefer the LIE to the TRUTH as given by G-d. Peace

Hello Garth,As a committed christian believer, I also have trouble with that term. To me it's a bottoms-up statement and the wrong way round. I do not 'fear' God - I love God because he first loved me and gave himself for me. I have therefore responded and received his eternal life and been given the joy of being a child in his family.
I have therefore found through personal experience that God is absolutely everything I would want my 'god' to be : holy, righteous, faithful and loving. In fact the only time when God is perceived to be anything other than these perfect attributes is when we (made by him in his image) rebel against his perfect Will. You make the statement "christians have no choice". Well......yes....and no !! We all have the choice TO BE CHRISTIANS. If we do, we accept God as he rightfully is (and will always be) and we then experience his love -and all the other attributes. We also have the choice to say "NO" and in this instance we are 'not christians' - we don't have any living relationship with God and his attributes are irrelevant to us. But this is the one time when 'fear' comes into the equation, because (although we have not accepted Jesus Christ as our Saviour) something deep inside us tells us that the things we have been told/read/heard, etc. are ACTUALLY true !!and if we reject God in our lifetime, we invite him to reject us for eternity. So it is not 'christians' that have no choise, but 'people'. I am a believer because of God's love for me, not my fear of Him. The term "God fearing christians" belongs to the C19. "God loving christians" would be more appropriate for today. I leave you to think. I throw no bricks - just ideas. Andrew |

Does that sound like love? Posted by Garthnader. _____________________________________________ Garthnader, a further weighing in on the usual depiction of G-d which you set forth in your post. It is through a misguidance that the followers of Christianity (Paulinists) seek to blend the primitive beliefs and doctrines of the Israselites(?) with the beliefs and doctrines of Christ. Jehovah, a wrathful G-d of vengeance and war is not the G-d of Omnipotent Love as revealed by the Christ. _____________________________________________ The followers of Christianity are forever chasing after false doctrine, taking their cue from their master Saul (Paul). They never stop to consider how ignorant their claims sound when they makes those asinine contradictions. This is exactly what Saul had in mind when he spread his carefully crafted lies. Divide and conquer. Seem to be but be not. Create antipathies among the believers. Fan the flames. Keep the fires of hatred burning. The sad part is that he succeeded in his damnable mission. -THE DESTROYER- |
