Shevster - thanks for the invitation -
Unfortunately the whole board seems to have fragmented since I joined 8 months ago. I was able to discuss rationally and with respect many and various matters of a 'religious' theme with those who both agreed and disagreed with my views, without resulting in a disrespectful slanging match. I'm still ready to do so, but I'm not going to mix it with foul mouthed individuals whoever they are, when I wish to discuss honest matters close to my heart. I can do that anywhere in England - I don't have to come to Ukraine.com !! Some people can't seem to accept other peoples' fundamental concepts of faith and beliefs without exploding into capitals and - as you say - bringing shame on the very person(s) and subjects who/that we we are supposed to be discussing. I'll keep reading, but I'll write only when I can contribute with a clear concience. My regards to all. Andrew |

Hi Andrew,
Would you not agree that we have the right to stand up and make our voice heard when there is a threat or a perceived threat to our freedom? Even in an intellectual discussion. LippyChick... ![]() ------------------ What we want and what we need have been confused... ![]() |

Ukeman, are you a Christian? Do you have anything to say on the subject of religion? Do you have anything to say about anything?
Are you so angry because your nanny didn't give you a 'cookie' with your warm milk last night? LippyChick... Waiting for some additional homophobic abuse!------------------ What we want and what we need have been confused... ![]() [This message has been edited by LippyChick (edited 10 October 2000).] |

Hi Lippychick, (sure like to call you something else - but I guess that's your choice !!)
ABSOLUTELY: to make our voice heard whether under threat (as you perceive it) or general discussion - is what it's all about....but do you really call some of the things posted over the last few weeks 'discussion'? I am disappointed to see so many instances of people simply slagging off others and using thinly veiled foul language on a board that a few months ago was extremely lively, but at least basically respectful to corresponding members. maybe I was jus brung up different.......... ANDREW. |

Andrew, try on the reality that all things evolve, change, transmute, alter, and get just dowright crappy. Those whom you seek to dismiss with a polite backhand just might be trying to find footing on the slippery slope of total disintegration. I know its Christian charity to spit on such beings in the dark, but do you find it necessary in light of the public? salam
