Are Ukrainian Christians happy?

It's unfair to judge based on a limited sample, so I thought I'd ask around.

The Ukrainians I know of (who have been in the west for awhile or who have recently arrived) and the ones I've heard about back in the homeland seem to be more "in to" sack cloth and ashes.

The obvious reply would be: "welllll, if you went thru what They did, you'd be somber, too." Don't know if that holds water, to tell you the truth.

What are your impressions?
