Greetings,
We are told by the faithful that Religion gives them morality, strength and visdom.
They hold their faith sacred. They tell us that faith is kindness, love and bliss.
As long as I live, I will not forget the picture of the Little Palestinian Boy, trying to hide behind his father to get out of the line of fire. Both of them clearly
unarmed. They did not even have stones to throw. Now, the little boy is dead. The medic who wanted to help him is also dead. What kind of person would shoot an unaremed little boy? What kind of a person would shoot a medic? I tell you what kind. A person who is eaten up by religious hatred.
What happened to the little boy today is not new. History is replet with religious hatred.
Entire Indian Nations were wiped out, just because they did not understand that they must become Christian.
Instead of Bliss, Love and Kindness, religion generates hatred. It always did and it always will as long as we let the PIMPS
impose it on the weak minded.
Those of you who are crusading on this or other boards for one faith or another, is this what you want?
Shame, Shame, Shame.

MAN IS KILLING MAN IN THE NAME OF RELIGION
NOT IN THE NAME OF GOD.
JESUS TAUGHT HIS FOLLOWERS TO LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR NOT KILL THEM.SO WHAT IS HAPPENING IN ISRAEL BY THE JEWS AND MUSLIMS IS NOT APPROVED BY GOD,IN JUST THE SAME WAY WHEN AMERICANS WENT TO WAR AGAINST VEITNAM,THE AMERICAN PRIEST,S BLESSED THE ARMY IN THE NAME OF GOD!!! WHAT A BUNCH OF HYPOCRITS!!!
ALL THIS NUMEROUS HARDSHIP UPON PEOPLE IN THE NAME OF "MAN MADE RELIGIONS" OF THIS WORLD HAS NEVER BEEN APPROVED BY GOD. GOD WILL HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGIONS THAT CLAIM TO SERVE HIM, IF,THEY KILL,PLUNDER AND CAUSE HUMAN SUFFERING.GOD SAYS "THE WAY OF THE WICKED ONE IS SOMETHIG DETESTABLE TO GOD"
IT IS THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS WEATHER THEY ARE CHRISTIANS,JEWS,MUSLIMS, WHO CLAIM THAT THEY ARE KILLING IN THE NAME OF GOD,WHAT A BUNCH OF HYPOCRITS!!! GOD IS NOT WITH YOU!!!!!!!!

Keep telling it like it is Bill,

One day and I really believe that one day the religious maniacs will wise up to what people like you are saying. It's just unfortunate that many more people will have to die beforehand.

I too fear for the children I want to bring in to the world.

Ukeman, why when your God is love are you so full of hate. I'm a lesbian, Bills a child molester or homosexual, does this make you feel stronger? Your supposed to preach love and peace, or is that only for the next world.

What do hateful little religious zealots grow up to be? Could it be people who murder in the name of God?

Please tell me the death toll "due to Christian", then lets count the death toll due to AIDS, Starvation, Drugs, Alcohol (includes drunk-driving deaths), Racism, Abortion.

What is apparent in those who blame deaths on religion through HOLY WAR is their lack of understanding of a simple little psychological defense mechanism called rationalization.

RATIONALIZATION:
1) An employee steals from the company and says, "everyone does it". They did not originally seek employment with that company with the intent to steal, but now they have and they have to rationalize it.

2) A man cheats on his wife and uses one of hundreds of excuses why he is a PIG. He did not intend to run around on the wife when he first married, but now he has and needs an excuse for his actions.

3) War and hatred. A large group of people become absorbed into a hate mob, not because the mob leaders say, "let's kill because killing will alleviate the anguish we feel looking at our position in life next to our neighbor" Rather, the leadership uses Religion, organized or other, to lure these vulnerables into their fold and their acts of killing, vengence, violence are then rationalized away as actions commanded of them by God. They feel righteous in killing innocent victims, instead of what they should feel, mortal shame.

Blaming all Religions for the Wars and acts of violence in the World is also Rationalization. You don't want to except the truth, and it is a straw you draw to say, "hey, hey these relgious people are ALL phonies, look at the genocide they ALL are accountable for."

The flaw in B-Ungaro's argument is his insistence that ALL religion is wrong and harmful. No truly enlightened individual would seriously hold such a view.Clearly religious fundamentalism which breeds prejudice is harmful, however for many people religion is a means of bringing comfort and a sense of purpose to their lives which they may not otherwise have.If religion inspires devotion for God and thus encourages someone to behave with morality and tolerance towards others then it is a positive thing. If however people choose to immerse themselves in meaningless religious dogma then it becomes harmful.Ultimately we are all guided by Karma and regardless of our religious beliefs we will arive at the same destination.Religion for some people may be the path that leads them to true inner peace and enlightenment however there is no reason why an atheist or agnostic cannot also attain spiritual enlightenment.Any religion can only guide us to the proper path in life.Ultimately we must seek spiritual truths within ourselves and attain salvation by our own strivings-no saviour can attone for our sins or provide us with salvation.
