A new and disturbing development.

Greetings,
Last night in the Chatroom we had a visitor
who identified his or herself as a JEW BAITER. I do not know if this person is a member of a Demented Group or just stands alone as a Demented Person. I was called
"Ungaro the Jew" several times. Several attempts were made to provoke me into a disccussion about Jews. I refused to do so for the following reasons:
1. I am not a Jew. I grew up in a Protestant Family. I guess when you take issue with
certain practices of Christianity you become a target for this kind of behaivor.
2. If somebody wants to know my views on Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Catholics or Protestants or any other faith all they have to do is post their question on this board and I will be happy to answer it. What you will hear is that I love all of them as individuals. However, I might have a different view on of their group, particularly if they are trying to push their views on me and my family or society as a whole. When I spoke out against any group it was in response to somebody elses posting. My views are on record about the RIGHT WING CHRISTIANS and about ZIONISM also. Both of these movements I consider wrong, actually I consider them DANGEROUS.
In closing, I would like to say that I appreciate the offer of help from people
who came to my side privately. There was no need to debate this person. You can't convince a SICK person or a SICK group. Only time can do it.
If the shoe fits, wear it.

I am surprised that you find that sort of behavior in a chat room new and disturbing. While I understand why you are disturbed, we have to remember that the internet provides us all with a view inside the guts of this world we live in. While that individual is enjoying the possibility of getting your goat through vulgarity and gross exageration founded on a misperception of you being a jew, remember: if there is one person like this, there are thousands. You just got touched by one. Congratulations.
Every day, the internet draws us into dangerous places, the kind, of which, your mother would not approve. Due to the veiled nature of internet existence, folks who are normally pleasant and decent to others use this technology to be creepy and raunchy and downright mean. Either physically, emotionally or mentally this person you encountered is only 8 years old.
My name ending in "berg" often makes people think I am Jewish. Working in the fashion industry, this mistake worked in my favor on many occassion.

Bill, you and I don't agree on much, but we do here: you are not a Jew. You are a sometimes ornery rascal with strong opinions, but I have never observed any prejudice in you (except that you yourself note against extreme Christians and zionists.)

Whoever those persons were, this foggyman objects to their lowering the level of the chat. It wasn't fun, and most of us come to chatroom to play. Bill doesn't need my defense, he can take care of himself, but I don't appreciate it. He is a worthy opponent, and it is cowardly to resort to name-calling and slander.

I hope that in a day or so the full moon will be over, and we will get back to the fun we used to have... that is why I stayed around.

Moosekisser, hang with us. Last night was not typical... we are really not like that.

Bill, I am profoundly sorry things sank to that level. Nobody I know on these boards had anything to do with it... I have investigated.
