Dear Olastborn,
Everyone dies sometime. God said that everyone lives once - then dies, and is then judged. So to die, our bodies must either become tired and worn out, or infected, or damaged - anything to stop us living forever in the frail mortal bodies that we have on this earth. Now just because death and the causes of death are a fact of life - it does not make a loving God any more or less loving. He has already made PROVISION FOR THE NEXT LIFE - and so those who put their trust in God live their lives to the full - do not fear death - and when they DO die they go and meet God and find in Him all the fulfilment of His promises that we accepted from Him during our lives.I repeat a previous remark - please don't try and look at God with purely human eyes.....ask God to help you see Him through HIS eyes - and then you will see the truth and recognise the way ahead for your own life and soul. best wishes, Andrew

You know VG I will not convict you only The Holy Spirit can do that which I sincerely believe He will.. in the meantime have a GREAT Christmas and remember without Christ there would be no CHRISTmas...

As to Christmas as a holiday... well, the holiday existed before Christ was borne, in fact, he wasn't even born in Winter, but to become successful they had to make the story fit... but I won't go in to that. It is just a holiday, name is irrelevant. |

V-G: Religion only matters to those who find comfort in it. Otherwise it has limited or no value whatsoever to those who don't. That, of course, depends on what the focus of the conversation is. If it's whether or not the guy with his finger on the button believes that, after pushing it, he will magically wake up in a new happier world, it most certainly matters to those of us who would rather keep living what little time we get on this one. ![]()

![]() I've said it before and you are confirming it, religion can stay for those who can't handle the pressures of the world. Thinking that there is a big something out there that will help you during harsh times can give you enough confidence to face your troubles. I wish I could start believing too - life would be much simpler. But if you think about it rationally - Christianity is just a nice little story... to control the masses. |

True, I like to use this as a figure of speech. You know "Thank God I won a lottery" etc. It means very little to me... similar to "Oh my God I am so lucky" ... It can also be used as "Oh ****... god damn that hurt"... nothing to do with believing.
