- I think that democracy in Russia will win without great american efforts (well, maybe with little Ukrainian help).
First sprouts of freedom in Russia are shooting - despite strict censorship and extreme Putins-fascist propaganda.
Here is nice article (in Russian):

Support and solidarity to Russian democrats and anti-fascists!!!

P.S.The fact that my yesterdays same post was deleted - prooves that there is Kremlin-paid spammer among moderators...

"....It (Russia) continues to prosecute a brutal war in Chechnya that has killed as many as 200,000, radicalizing the Muslim population, and it actively supports dictatorships in Central Asia......"

:-o)

Whereas America has brought peace and democracy to Afghanistan and Iraq - and continues to support democracies in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia? Of course their former nice and friendly governments in various South American countries have all been replaced by very suspect left-wing governments who deal with Cuba and talk of spending resources on their own people instead of selling them at knock down prices to US multinationals. (That can't be right)

Anyway, I think the US military will be busy freeing the minds of a few more Iraqis for a while yet... they have no time for Russia. Iran and North Korea are probably more of a worry for them.

Seriously though, both Russia and America are at fault in this respect. The Americans should clean up their own act before criticising the Russians.

Cool G7

Lenire,

It's the same as inviting a dog to eat at the table with humans.
In Moscow's rus case, it brings only the blood of the innocent.

lenire is on a distinguished road
I cannot understand why Russia was invited to join the G7 (now G8), but if we want to change them, we have to talk to them. They dont have an advantage at that table, 7 against 1 is going to cost them, my hope is that its for the good of all.
Wether they deserve a seat at the table does not really matter, if they can be influenced there by the others. I doubt that the other members are impressed by the economic status of russia so I dont think they will cut them much slack.

Len,

It's a good point.
Over the last few years, it's more than obvious
inviting Moscow's rus to the table was a mistake.
The only influence it offers is a corrupting one.

Democracy must stand shoulder to shoulder against tyranny.
