All the time before now, I thought that Ukraine need a modern democratic form of government, but now I think that I was wrong. Ukraine is not ready to have such an free government, countries economy cannot stabilize if its government cannot stabilize. I think that if more then 50% of Ukrainian population voted for democrats, then communist party should not be in it. Existence of communist party grabs Ukraine back, finally, first time in out 8 years history there are more democrats, but look whats happening, it turned into crisis, communists occupied verhovna rada, they call for help of all communists all over the world, what is this? Can country continue its re-construction under these conditions? No. If only democratic parties would have been allowed to exist, then all the democratic laws would be able to be passed, the grow would have go faster, and only then, in certain time, when country stabilizes its government and economy, all the government-freedom should be allowed.
What do YOU think? |

It is a choice between growing your own government or installing one that seems to work well in another country.
You have to do one or the other. My oppinion is that you should work with what you have and learn as you go. There is no point pre-judging the situation when you don't like the way it looks. It might just be a bit of hard work that can make you richer if you let it run it's own course. My political persuasion is very 'laisse a fair', though I realise you need to show you have something in common with the countries you wish to be your trading partners. However, I think the real value is in multinationals which catch on quickly and recognise assets before anybody else can. If you make them happy then you must be doing something right in my oppinion. |

Hey, Phil, the only "multinationals" in the country are McDonald's and Pizza Hut, to the best of my knowledge. Everybody else pulled out a couple years after independence before they had to put any real money on the
table. You're right about the benefits of "home grown," except one can avoid reinventing the wheel by picking some good models. Everyone in Ukraine knows that whatever emerges will be uniquely Ukrainian, but there is little experience in transformations to draw inspiration from as it takes shape. |

I agree 100% with you John,
The government must evolve into something unique, and take the best from other models all the way and in every circumstance. It pays to have your finger on the pulse like that. The government must be flexible and it must suit the existing environment. It must be expansive and inclusive. |

Stas, Stas, Stas... Don't you understand? Everything they do in Ukraine right now is best described with one word "Pokazuha"!
Communists will exist maybe 10-15 more years, untill they all die out or smth. But, whatever, if it makes people calmer... |
