Here is an editorial about "the compromise" Mr.Yuschenko has struck with what he calls a "corrupt regime" accepting political reform and betraying hundreds of thousands of his followers:
http://nl.newsbank.com/nl-search/we/...B84&p_docnum=2 what do you think about it.Though the article is totataly biased we see how Mr.Yuschenko &Co manipulated the minds of his supporters claiming a "orange revolution" some call this "action"--"Great Ukrainian masturbation" and getting a "compromise" with a "corrupt regime" he wanted to overthrow!! What do you think about the the outcome of all what happened in the Ukraine during these cold days and political reform in general.I want to start an open discussion about it. |

What has happened is that people of Ukraine has shown that they are one nation, from east to west and are ready to defend it from russian-political-puppets(yanukovych).
Political reform is a compromise. - relatively fair elections for opposition, in exchange for making Ukraine a parliamentary-republic, which means giving more power to the Parliament. Today Parliament is relatively equally divided between corrupted government forces and democratic opposition. In the middle of them are 60 sits of communists who are the ones deciding, because you have 150+ voting one way and 150+ voting the other way, and the vote of the communists deciding. However, since Ukrainian Communists are almost all Russians from Donbass region (Near Donec'k) it is usually pro-corruptive decisions that they make. Which means it is not a good reform, at least for now. But in 2006 there will be Parliament-Election, and hopefully they are free, in which case Democrats will gain majority of the sits.

Quote:
The reaction of citizens who live in South-Eastern Ukraine showed that they don't like western-political-clowns like Mr.Yuschenko.If i were you i wouldn't be so sure about one nation--simply because "the orange party" does not represent opinion of the whole nationand please next time do not describe "orange party" as the whole nation Quote:
And trimming president's powers significally Quote:
Wrong the majority is based upon Kuchma's factions that represent almost 1/3 of parliament and "our Ukraine" is a minority faction even if they have a coalition with SPU and Timoshenko's block they don't have 2/3 majority in order to change contitution or simply to pass decisions."Regions of the Ukraine" could reach constutional majority 2007(yes 2007 and not 2006 though legislature period was extended to 5 years not four, you made a "slight" mistake )[Edited by Relict on 13th December 2004 at 03:56] |
