Does anyone know why ORANGE was picked as a color of freedom in Ukraine?

Because according to scientists, it affects brain and causes agression even worse than red color does.

Acording to some, orange is the color of protest in Ukrainian culture. It is said that a woman might give a suitor a pumpkin in answer to an unwanted marriage proposal.

How true is it? Beats me, but it is making the news rounds lately, and I have seen it explained that way by orange protesters in Kiev.
