Supporters of Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych in eastern Ukraine have announced they will hold a vote next Sunday for a semi-independent area.
The move by the Donetsk region council came as opposition supporters kept up the pressure to overturn the result of the disputed presidential poll.No one like this idea .And me and my family will not visit ukrainia this year .

It's a very good question kazanova3, why after all the years of fighting, politicing and prayers would they want to split the country in two.
Obviously the people who put forward these ideas are not true Ukrainians.
We need to show the world that we have progressed beyond petty sqabbling and off beat rhetoric.
We don't need this continuous ethnic bashing of the other people who for whatever reason are in the Ukraine. If they don't like it they can leave.
It's that simple.
If they are of third generation non-Ukrainian heritage (or first!),they are Ukrainian citizens and in a Democratic Society have a right to speak etc. They can also have the same pride in their own heritage but they are by birth Ukrainian.
If you are born in the Ukraine you are Ukrainian and if you want to be Russian or any other nationality then you leave and live in that country and take on their citizenship.
I was born in Australia and therefore I am an Australian Citizen, this is my country now and I'm proud of that, but, my heritage is Ukrainian and I'm also proud of that.

As much as Western Ukrainian diaspora hate this fact majority of people who voted for Yanukovich are ethnic Ukrainians not Russians.

Even in central and western regions with virtually no ethnic Russians like Uzhgorod, Kirovograd and Zhitomir (where few if any fraud was reported) significant minoritity of up to 40% voted for Yanukovich and pro-Russian regions like Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporozhie or Dnepropetrovsk are also predominantly ethnic Ukrainian/mixed.

Ethnic Russians are only about 17 % of the Ukrainian population (most of them in Crimea, Odessa, Lugansk and Donetsk)

There is another fact you hate, Russians and Ukrainians are historically the most integrated, intermarried and culturally linked nations in Europe with no history of mutual animosity with the exeption of Galicia which is culturally more different from the rest of Ukraine than let's say Ukrainian Chernigov region is from Russian Belgorod or Bryansk regions on Ukrainian border.
