According to my understanding of Yougoslav politics, in the days of "the Ottoman Empire", Serbs were planted into Yugoslavia from Germany, to resist the might of the Turkish Empire, and Croatians were planted into Yugoslavia
from Ukraine, to resist the might of the Turkish empire.
So, Serbs are English, and Croats are Ukrainians.
