Dear friends!
Town counciliors in Lvov made few days ago impossible opening ceremony of the restaured cementery of Polish victims of Polish-Ukrainian clashes in 1918. In the consequence Polish president refused to arrive to Lvow and participate in the ceremony. Taking into the consideration the fact, that Poland is the ONLY follower of the Ukraine’s membership in NATO, course of Lwow’s town counciliors assures us which alliance chose Ukraine! Congratulations, fellows. Good choice. With this fussion you will not need better luck next time ;-)

difficult guestion
Dear Bartocz,
Altough you know my opinion on the western Ukraine (I really admit that Poland have made a greatest contribution to this region. And after that this region was violently tacken apart from Poland.) Still you are not right while blackmailing the Ukrainians. If Poland supported NATO membership for Ukraine-that should not mean that all the orders from Warsaw should be taken without discussion. Although i appreciate the heroism of Poland soldiers, dying for their Motherland. For most ukrainians do not know much about that war, you would better state any references on the topic. |

I wasn’t blackmailing anybody. My statement was a simple conclusion, based on few events that had happened over few recent weeks.
Poland didn’t impose anything. I doubt it is so influential. Let me remind you the name of Polish capital – is Warsaw, not Moscow (joke – I don’t doubt you remember that) ;-). I have no idea what authorities of Lvov give the priority to. If they pay more attention to one inscription (naming Polish soldiers the heroes – I hope so can be named opponents of Ukrainian soldiers) and two monuments – of American and French volunteers fighting on the Polish side than to the membership of Ukraine in NATO (maybe they don’t care, so it seems to me), so they have a specific hierarchy of the importance of the objectives. But - so many countries, so many customs ;-)

Definitely you exaggerate :-) I doubt the activists from Lvov share your opinion on the parochialism of the Ukraine. They would rather associate the notion of the ‘forlorn country’ with another side of the border(what’s the funniest, I’m not far from this opinion ;-).
In any case the subject of this thread was deducing, what to hell was on mind of this guys when they made the decision to do what they did.
