I was reading an article some time ago that stated that Kuchma was improving ties to the west (Western Countries). When "tapegate" came about he was shunned by the West. Is Kuchma interested in strong ties with Russia because he believe it is the future of the country or because the west is not supporting him

Melnichenko' s tapes

As the scandal rose up with the tapes of Melnichenko.

the several days all the TV programs in ukraine were stating, that no such a man Melnichenko has ever been in the service of Kuchma. they denied the fact of any knowledge about Melnichenko.

The same days- some TV companies showed the translation of News from Russia. And everibody could see the pictures of Melnichenko right close to Kuchma on some negotiations.
So it was real lie from Ukrainian media.

later on these TV companies, engaged in showing the news from Russia were prohibited and did not recieved their licence for broadcasting.

Then the meeting began in many cities and towns and many political forces tried to make impeachment to Kuchma.
Everibody was looking at the kommunist party of ukraine.
Would they support Alexander Moroz in his struglle or not???

Then the most interesting- kuchma went to putin for support. probably he recieved what he wanted- because no one from Kommunist party supported alexander moroz.
He nearly stayed alone against the President pressure- of cause he has lost.
Had the communists supported him - they would surely won.
Since those days kuchma became a follower of eastern friendship with russia. Without Putin protectorate he would not stay on his post.

Kuchma is desperate and his actions are no longer dictated by policies he developed before, but by a struggle for survival, - which will not happen. Kuchma WILL BE impeached in less than a year.

We may bet on Kuchmas impeachment.

I am sure that S.O.B. will survive on his post till the new elections.
I bet a US$200 on it.
Will you answer me?

No. I'm not excluding the posibility of such outcome, however I'm 99.9834935% sure about that. And since I'm not a gambler(always lose in bets) I won't bet... besides, I don't think any of us will be on this board by 2004.

I wish for both of us to survive on the board

I would like you to win, but unfortunately, our country has never any opposition able to rule the state.
