I believe some kind of slavic union is a good idea. Not a soveit style organization, but rather a way to protect slavic countries from being over-run economicaly and culturaly.Either from the EU,Muslim expansionism,or good ol' american corporate greed.Dont get me wrong,I love my country but would hate to see Ukraine become some western clone. With the resources of the slavic nations they could potentialy go up against any economic union.I just hope they can get their act together.

European Union

Hey Dano,

What do you think of all the Slavic countries joining the European Union? Good idea or bad idea? Do you think the Western Europeans would respect the ideas of Slavic countries or do you think France, Germany, and the other big EU countries will try to control everything? The great French writer Victor Hugo once wrote about a united Europe with France as the leader....

Slavic Unity

The concept of Slavic Unity is a bunch of BS.

However, in his latest book on the History of Europe, a framous English Historian, Norma Davies, claims that if the Slavic nations would not fight with each other from the start, they would (from a Historical perspective) be the most influential group in Europe.

So, I would like to propose that as the first step, Slavic nations will stop fighting with each other. This may be done in a simple manner.

Russia must first stop attacking, demolishing and screwing its neighbors. Once this is done and Russia will be happy just being itself (although I know this is just not possible).
Then we have 50% of Slavic Unity instantly.

Which of its neighbors is Russia attacking, demolishing and screwing? Don't say it's Chechnya because it's been part of Russia for centuries.
By the way, is it not considered screwing you neighbor when Ukraine steals Russian gas from the pipeline?

Also, is respecting human rights in regard to the language people speak not a condition for the Slavs to get along? Will Russia ever get along with Ukraine if Ukraine forces everyone to speak Ukrainian?
