Medal for Yanukovych – nothing for Timoschenko

Political life in Ukraine is really funny and exciting! Everyday I can hear something new and more anecdotic than it was before. And today I would like to share with you this one.
As you might know Viktor Yanukovych had become a chevalier of Legion of Honour – he had received the highest state award in France. But his fierce opponents from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc were very disappointed by that fact. Moreover I can say that they had become even more insolent. They always know better what should be done in Ukraine and now they are trying to give orders to France, which is an independent state! Incredible and insolent at the same time! Of course the YTB knows better who should get the highest state award of France and who shouldn’t. The former Ukrainian government led by Timoschenko and Yuschenko was giving state awards to everyone indiscriminately; unclear for what and of course it gives the YTB a right to discourse upon actions of the French government. It appears to me that it’s just a simple grudge of the YTB. Tymoshenko and Yuschenko were bowing and scraping before the West for so long and they didn’t get any of the less prestigious awards, not to speak of French Legion of Honour Medal. It’s clear that the West can say anything they want to hear and what is useful for the West, but really prestigious awards can be awarded only for the real work.
