Nick,
It is very nice to read about “ blooming” Welsh and Irish languages under careful English rule ( you forgot to mention Scotland with the same “ideal” conditions for native language ). God save us from such situation !

Perhaps you don’t know that during all soviet period such organization as KGB controlled state language policy. Before it there were 3 hundred years of the same tsarists policy. Their methods were very far from democracy , don’t you know ?

The UK is a democratic country – no doubt. I can not say a single good word about a situation with democracy in Russia. Equally far from democracy are their current political allies in Ukraine.

More than 7 mln ethnic Ukrainians live in Russia . In the UK there is a Ukrainian community as well ( for sure it is much less). We have Ukrainian schools, clubs, churches, etc. in …. the UK , but NONE in the RF ! Russian democracy you know.

Being a foreigner I would talk about other country more carefully let’s say , and for sure I’d learn history a bit at least.

Do you speak any of those blooming languages you mentioned in your post ? It would be very fair if you did. We have many Russians who live in Ukraine and respect our language and culture. I have many such friends. We have others as well – they think like you.

PS Hannia and Sjoyce - I shake your hands , my friends !

german. I this bad? I guess, no. . .
