Ukraine's lack of billionaires

Does it bother any one else that of Ukraine's most wealthy, virtually none are Ukrainian?

Akhmetov, Pinchuk, Kolomoisky, Shiftin, Rabinovich, Zhevago...

What good is privatization if all of Ukraine's resources and wealth is controlled by others?

sjoyce is on a distinguished road
I have sure noticed this and wonder why most of them are of Russian descent. And how is it that many of them are Russian Jews. I am not bigoted about Jewish people, I just find this an amazing fact. How can a country privatize any sector if there is no control who buys a company or who bids on the comapnies. Did I read that Yanukovych wants to trade some government owned properties with Russia. We all know who will be the winner here. I am sure the country would be in better shape if they had an honest taxation system and not one that favors the rich!!

They Dare Not Tax the Megarich !

As I have said before on other threads, the megarich elite have become so powerful that individual governments dare not burden them with the same propotion of taxes to income as they do with the lowly working masses, for fear that the "Smart Money" will close itheir business enterprises in that country and withdraw their billions to another country.

and its a damned shame!

ukraine would be in much better shape if jews didn't control 90% of our nation's wealth, its disgusting

go from one extreme (communist state control) to the other (privatized non-nationalized control)

they should take away every cent they've stolen from ukraine and give it back to ukrainians

The Previous Anti Jewish comment !

I am not pro or anti Jewish, but generally anti privileged establishment, and I have to say to you be grateful that you are not a resident British subject, and subject to "British democracy". Your remarks could enable a rich Jewish organisation to successfully take you to court under a private action under Racial Relations and Protection legislation.
I am still on a learning curve regarding Ukrainain business ownership ratios. I am however starting to get an idea that certain sectors of Ukrainian business may have Mafia characteristics.
I do concede though that Jewish organisations weild tremendous power in the USA. Hence when Somali citizens raid ships in international waters with menaces it is illegal piracy. When Iraeli soldiers do the same the USA seems to feel that it is not. I also have liitle doubt that much of "the Smart Money" that I refer to in these threads happens to be within the Jewish fraternity control, as indeed it has been for many years.

wake up! don't you know that nothing has changed with the coming of democracy to Ukraine. those who had the real power and wealth still have it today and are going to keep it thanks to the current coarse of government policy.
