The overthrow of the Bakiev corrupted regime is legal result of his policy.
The overthrow of the Bakiev corrupted regime is legal result of his policy. And Americans will not respond for this new revolution in Kirghizia! And all those things took place as a result of Bakiev’s attempts to play on several gambling tables simultaneously. Look, he took the credit in Russia promising to withdraw US military base ‘Manas’ but then he gave the look at Washington. He got his green money and didn’t fulfill his promise to Russians. That’s why neither Russians nor Americans will intervene to help him out now! Bakiev is alone due to his lack of firm line.
In fact this situation is not new and for me it remembered another country and another president. Well, Belarusian president Lukashenka is dancing similar dance now! I wonder how long will he stay as a president? Not so much long, I suppose. Especially if we take into account rising activity of Belarus opposition and people’s weariness. That’s why I’m sure that no one will defend him because Lukashenka has to understand what the coast of such games is! |

Another Trauma of the Post Soviet Era
Kyrgyzstan, like most previously Soviet controlled countries continues to suffer from the vacuum created by the sudden absence of an authoritarian regime. Previous communist leaders then in many cases became self proclaimed presidents, and have quickly become a self serving political mafiia, who with their immediate families and cronies administer their countries with personal enrichment as a high priority. Kurmanbek Bakiyev replaced such a president but regretably pursued the same style of politics and is now paying the price.
As these countries continue to experience controlled home grown media (just like the Soviet era), the citizens will require access to satellite TV and independant radio to form their own political opinions and judgements. Only with greater political maturity can they emerge from this without excessive bloodshed and continued churning of unworthy polticians. |

Funny how these 'lost sheep' find their way back to post for the election and other "breaking news" then wander off again.
This one has 7 posts in 5 years and I bet that they're all of a similar bent. |

Criminal Politicians Helping One Another
It is not surprising that ousted President Bakiev should seek refuge firstly with the assistance of the Kazakhstan president, and now from the Belarus president. It demonstrates just how these fine examples of political mafia rally round to help one another when the chips are down. You never know, they may need an escape route favour themselves one day!
